The area of Layton is mentioned in  the Doomsday Book.  The Layton Institute Club was started in Barn Buildings on the 8th November 1912, then moved to a bungalow across from the present site, before opening in today's building on the 6th June 1925. The official opening included president Mr Whittaker, The Mayor Mr Fletcher and Vice President Mr Swarbrick, a partner in local brewers C & S.

The Club boasts a superb crown bowling green, excellent snooker tables, comfortable lounge and bar and a top rated concert room.  The club has a strong sporting theme with numerous ladies and gents bowls, football, snooker, darts, dominoes, golf, fishing and crib teams.

The concert room has a great tradition for hosting a full production Summer Show and has been used to host the old Wheelttappers And Shunters TV programme and the Lily Savage Show - Live at the Lilydome.

The Club members support numerous charities with local Children's Hospice Brian House being the main Charity raising over £50,000 over the years.  The Club is a strong supporter of the local community and is fast approaching it's Centenary.

To whom it may concern

We were issued two complimetary tickets to your Summer Show, we went on Tuesday and would like to         extend our thanks to you. Tanya Tevaro, Nik Page, Brad Leigh Scott, Emmi J Dancers and Carl Schofield gave a superb show, the dancers costumes were great and the overall variety was excellent.

Blackpool needs these types of shows and long may it continue, we will certainly promote to our customers.
Thank you again

Would just like to tell everyone about the Summer Show at the Layton Institute Club. We went on saturday night and it was a fabulous show, very professionally presented. The compere, Carl Schofield, was hilarious and a real entertainer, Tanya Tevaro a superb girl singer, Darren Coulton, another brilliant singer, but in my opinion was,nt given a big enough part in the show, and last but not least Nik Page who has one of the best voices i,ve heard in a long time. Also the lovely Emmi J

dancers brought lots of glamour to the night. So if you,re in Blackpool, give it a try, you won,t be disappointed.
