Layton's Summer Show of 2009 is a hard act to follow but we believe we have a show just as good if not better this year with a fabulous group of talented people. The line up is as follows:
Beginning with your comedy-host - Terry
Cotta
Terry Cotta started out in the business in
1992 and the following year was offered his first summer season here in Blackpool. He’s been performing
in Blackpool every summer since.Terry has also toured many other countries with
his comedy show including Spain, Portugal,
Greece and Wigan. He is proud to be asked to appear at the Layton institute
for the summer show 2010 and is looking forward to it immensely.
The Beautiful Young Songstress - Cherie Jade
Cherie Jade's first performance was at the
age of 10 where she played Oliver at Blackpool's opera house. She trained in dance for many years and was accepted
to the prestigious Hammond School of Ballet.
At 18 Cherie Jade took to the stage on board various cruise liners and for the
next 3 years travelled the world. Her passion for singing and dancing led her
to live in Spain for a year, then returning back to England
to tour with Qdos Pantomime, Circus Hilarious and Tony Peers productions.
Cherie Jade has now been a successful solo soul artiste for 5 years, and also
works all over the world with top Supremes tribute act Xtreme Supreme.
Also one of her projects is a lively girl duo Cognak, where she keeps
her passion for dance alive in this choreographed fun, funky show.
Layton's very own - Darren
Coulton
Darren started his training at Doreen Birds
college of performing arts Kent, he
also trained at Manchester school of Music for Vocals.
His first professional season was at Butlins with the likes of Jimmy James and
the Vagabonds, Little and Large, Bernie Clifton etc. He also sang at the Royal
Gala. From here he did several summer seasons and pantomimes throughout the UK
including shows at Liverpool Empire, Wolverhampton Grand Theatre and Blackpool
Grand Theatre and the Blackpool Opera House.
Then he signed up with Stageworks Worldwide Productions and did several shows
at the Horseshoe Bar, The Star and a Christmas special at the Paradise Room with
Jimmy Tarbuck and Kenny Lynch. He was lucky enough to be chosen for the
farewell world cruise of the Canberra Cruise Liner P&O working with the
London Stadium Theatre Company.
This years "Top Of The Bill" - Rob
Linacre
With over 30 years in the business Rob is
without doubt one of the finest vocal talents on the circuit. He captivates
audiences of all ages with his excellent vocal range and on-stage charisma.
After starting out in the business from a very young age, Rob has matured with
professionalism and style and knows how to make a song his own. At the age of
ten he was a member of the highly acclaimed family trio The Linacres,
(who starred at the Layton Institute in 1997), then moved on to create the
award winning vocal harmony show band: LIFE.
Rob has been a solo artiste now for five years and is already a regular
featured act with P&O Cruises. Most recently he is very proud to have been
invited to perform on the maiden voyage of the brand new ship Azura
which sails in April 2010. Rob is making his mark in many countries all over
the world.
Not forgetting - The Gorgeous Stageworks Dancers
